Case Study 1

Fix a broken tooth

UNFORTUNATELY, ACCIDENTS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE AT ANY TIME.

This patient managed to fracture his upper front tooth in a fall. Dr Harris is one of the leading UK dentists when it comes to using tooth coloured fillings and you can see how beautifully he has managed to blend in the filling with the natural tooth.

Case study 2

Fixing problem teeth & denture

THIS LADY PRESENTED WITH MANY PROBLEM TEETH AND ALSO DISLIKED THE DENTURE SHE HAD TO WEAR TO REPLACE THE MISSING TEETH.

Her aims were to have a nice smile, to not have to wear her denture and also to have all her amalgam fillings removed for health reasons. Initially impressions were taken, along with jaw recordings and photographs so that full dento-facial analysis could be undertaken. From this we arrived with a number of options for treatment. The patient opted for a dental rehabilitation with all ceramic dental crowns and all ceramic dental bridges. We also replaced the old amalgam fillings with white composite fillings. She is absolutely delighted with the outcome.

Case study 3

Fixing discoloured teeth

THIS PATIENT HAD SLOWLY BEEN WATCHING HER FRONT TOOTH GET DARKER AND DARKER.

Whilst options of crowning or veneering the tooth were discussed, we eventually decided that any treatment was to be kept to a minimum as the tooth had good structure. Using a combination of whitening techniques we lightened the tooth over a period of about 3 weeks to achieve a very good end result.

Case study 4

Fixing teeth after avoiding the dentist for years

THIS PATIENT ATTENDED THE PRACTICE AFTER AVOIDING COMING TO THE DENTIST FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.

We discussed his anxieties which were getting in the way of him progressing with dental treatment and arrived at a plan that slowly progressed towards a final outcome that included fillings crowns and dentures. He is absolutely delighted with the outcome and has also managed to overcome his anxieties about having dental treatment.

Case study 5

Fixing failing dental crowns

THIS PATIENT HAD PROBLEMS WITH OLD CROWNS THAT WERE STARTING TO FAIL.

She was also concerned with the fact that the dark lines around the crowns were unsightly and she was very self conscious about smiling in public. The old crowns were replaced using modern all ceramic crowns which blend more naturally with her natural teeth.

Case study 6

Fixing gum marks and wearing teeth

THIS YOUNG PATIENT WAS CONCERNED BY THE MARKS AROUND THE GUM LINE ON HIS TEETH. HE WAS ALSO CONCERNED BY THE FACT THAT HIS FRONT TEETH WERE WEARING AWAY.

We discovered that there was an underlying bite issue that was leading to the front edges of the teeth wearing, and this was also causing headaches.

Treatment consisted of whitening and minimal all ceramic crowns (0.3mm thick) to re-establish the appearance and function of the top teeth, solving the aesthetic and bite issues at the same time.

Case study 7

Fixing worn teeth

THIS PATIENT WAS CONCERNED BY THE WORN FRONT EDGES ON HIS TEETH AND ALSO THE DISCOLOURED TOOTH.

We discovered that there was an underlying bite issue causing the wear on his front teeth, and that the dark tooth was due to a previous root filling.

Dr Harris completed a course of teeth whitening and minimal all ceramic crowns (0.3mm thick) on the front teeth, addressing the bite issue at the same time. The proportions of the front teeth have also been adjusted slightly to ensure the perfect smile was achieved.

Case study 8

Fixing "sticking out teeth"

THIS PATIENT WAS CONCERNED BY HER FRONT TOOTH WHICH WAS “STICKING OUT” AND WAS MAKING HER VERY SELF CONSCIOUS TO THE POINT THAT SHE WOULD NEVER SMILE IN PUBLIC.

Dr Harris used one of the rapid brace systems (Six Month Smiles) to gently move her teeth into position over a period of about 5 months. Followed by a course of teeth whitening she has now achieved the smile of her dreams.
